Ahhhhhhhhh… made it there today.
The surf is too high for swimming – but great walking and paddling. I guess the ‘kona’ winds are stirring the sand up but it is beautiful to listen to and people watching is always fun.

Ahhhhhhhhh… made it there today.
The surf is too high for swimming – but great walking and paddling. I guess the ‘kona’ winds are stirring the sand up but it is beautiful to listen to and people watching is always fun.
I think we’re all a little ‘punchy’ from lack of sleep and the travel… but, it is so great here.
The warm trade-winds and moist air are definitely part of the huge appeal. I like the thought of us out on these little islands in the ocean too.
We’re just getting organized today.
Who would know that you can tell a bracelet is brass (not gold) by rubbing your finger/hand across it quickly and smelling… a very metallic aroma for brass – but gold doesn’t smell… HUH!
And, gold doesn’t tarnish either – no wonder it’s so popular (not to mention pretty and shiny… says the crow part of me;)
I still haven’t touched base with Mark… hope Mandy has – I’ll see her on Friday.
Tried to call Tanya – but, no luck there either~~
I’m still working on the vintage jewelry site – lots of fun. I’m intrigued by a few things I found, but know very little about them:
I think they are ‘probably’ from a tourist trip to France:
This little angel shines up nicely – like silver and enamel.
This is a double strand string of ‘coins’ marked Republic Francais 1908 (smart of me to fgure out France huh?) They also shine up very nicely.
Finally – this hilarious pair of earrings – shades of Marie Antoinette’s skirts and/or lampshades. My little finger fits inside the ’shade’ part… I don’t think they are actually wearable… the post seems brittle.
I’m feeling like I need to get some inventory stored up. I agreed to get a table at our neighbours ‘Antiques, Collectibles and Handcrafted Items’ show on March 20.
It’ll be fun.
I found that a big exercise in frustration – now I’m not even sure if I like the end result.
I would have been fired from the factory floor L>O>N>G time ago…
What do you do when you drop your jewelry findings supplies on the floor????
Nothing to do but pick them up – better than spilt milk because you can at least use them again (if you find them all~~~).
Anyway – My goal, for now, is to use up the supplies I have making new things… I’m certainly enjoying the process for now.

Thankfully it’s been nice and we’ve started our walks again. Happy Birthday to Five year old Fergus too!
I’m definitely a Jill of Many Trades but Master of None; I’m loving the vintage twist that the jewelry making has taken me. Thanks to my neighbour that has been a long time vintage jewelry collector I’ve started my own – buying and selling; mostly buying and admiring and re-working some old pieces or creating new with vintage pieces.
I’m changing the jewelry listings from Etsy to ECrater because you can list there for free and they can stay forever – if need be. It’s easier to post images too… may not be as fancy but I had very little success on Etsy anyway. I’ll always enjoy creating new and with old jewelry so I may as well have a place to post them.

I haven’t been able to touch base with Mark, on Skype – I know January is a busy intensive month but he must still be missing Mandy. It was great to meet her parents… I made the first impression error of serving a dirty water jug at table though… heavy sigh… I’m not usually a food slob! Michael says it’ll be easier to make a good impression next time because they won’t be expecting much!
Maui in 2 weeks! Fun in the Sun.
